The easiest way to remove film from the dishwasher is to run the dishes through a cycle using citric acid. You can purchase a citric acid kit, or just use Tang. Remember this is not an issue with the performance of the dishwasher, but a change in dishwasher deteregent due to state regulations.

Do you have a white film on your glassware and items taken out of your dishwasher? Recently all dishwasher detergetnts took phosphate out of the detergent to comply with state regulations as of July 2010. Detergents without phosphates tend to leave mineral deposits on glassware.
